What can 70 Million People Change?

What can 70 Million People Change?

A few weeks ago, I was hurrying downtown on my way to catch a movie when a stranger standing on the street corner called out to me. “Would you like to help shutdown puppy mills?” he asked. Now, my mind said yes, but my mouth said no.

Of course I want to shutdown puppy mills. I’ve have no quarrel with puppies. I would like them to be treated humanely. Better than humanely, actually. We feed humans bologna. Dogs deserve better. That being said, I didn’t want to stop and chat. I had things to do. Does that make me a bad person? Probably. Was Change.org created for bad people like me, too involved with their own lives to give puppies a minute? I think, yes. Very much I think yes.

To be fair, Change.org is doing a wonderful job empowering individuals and allowing them to take charge and make change. The victories, so far, have been inspiring to many. What can 70 Million people change? I think we’re all about to find out.
