Paul Stamets says “engaging mycelium can help save the world.”

Can mushrooms change the world? Paul Stamets thinks so. A mycologist living in Olympia, Washington, Paul believes that the mycelium mushroom — the vegetative part of a fungus — can be used to renew polluted soil, safely transform corn into fuel and even create environmentally friendly pesticide.

In his TED talk, 6 ways mushrooms can save the world, he contributes to a growing trend of finding solutions in nature. Could mycelium help save the world? Wouldn’t it be amazing if the answer was yes?
